She is an interdisciplinary artist using scholarship, independent world travel, research and serendipitous opportunity to inform her practice. Jodi has exhibited her work consistently since 1989 in venues ranging from one-person museum shows to head-shop extravaganzas in the US and UK, and often works in conjunction with other scholars around the globe to propel collaborative efforts.  She has written extensively on the subject of progressive models of  art education and has been published in peer-review journals, text-books, national glossy magazines, chap books and is the author of the “ArtTeacher” book series.

As a teacher Jodi has labored in varied (sometimes scary) venues from Michigan to Florida and recently left Wayne State University, where for four years, she taught graduate-level art education courses. She’s also taught online courses for the Art Institutes Online.

Jodi currently serves as an assistant professor of art at a small liberal arts university where she teaches future art teachers how to teach art; as well as art history and criticism.
